Love your self: V-Day Treats to Delight Your Senses

Valentines Day doesn't just have to be about that certain someone, it can also be a time to love your self!  In my past, there have been a few times that I'm alone on V-Day, and in those times I like to take the opportunity to treat my self.  Check out these ways of pampering your self when you have alone time during this wistful occasion.

Soft Skin Sexy Body:  Upset your senses with a warm bath!  You can relax while achieving that ever desirable soft skin.  This is a lot easier with a sugar scrub or body polish.  Scrubs and polishes physically remove dead skin cells from the outer layer of your skin with lightly abrasive ingredients, like sugar or salt.  Most Scrubs and polishes are scented for added freshness.  Some body polishes even reduce ingrown hairs and the appearance of cellulite!  For those who are environmentally or morally conscience, you can even find products that are vegan friendly and cruelty free.  Check out these two products we offer which are appropriate and conscientious:

Stars in Your Eyes:  The only bags you should be worried about are the ones you pack for your next vacation, not ones under your eyes.  Treat your self to the serene with a cooling and refreshing eye mask.  In addition to helping you look more well-rested, under-eye masks hydrate and nourish your skin using ingredients like hyaluronic acid and ceramides.  Many eye masks contain anti-aging ingredients like retinol.  Others have caffeine and niacinamide to brighten dark under-eye circles.  We offer a variety of eye masks in store.  If you're curious, here's what those look like.

Romantic Aromatherapy:  Soft lighting and pleasant aromas help any person calm down or relax.  Aromatherapy can help you reach that moment of Zen.  People often associate aromatherapy with self care, so be encouraged to take some time to relax.  Aromatherapy candles contain essential oils, some of which may help with stress and anxiety.  For instance, a few studies have found that inhaling lavender essential oil can reduce anxiety.  Some evidence suggests that other essential oils may also ease stress, including:

Clary sage: A small study found that clary sage reduced cortisol levels. Cortisol is one of the hormones involved in the body’s stress response.

Bergamot: Another small study showed that bergamot reduced negative emotions, fatigue, and salivary cortisol levels.

Ylang-ylang: A 2014 pilot study found that people who inhaled ylang-ylang for 30, 60, and 90 days reported higher self-esteem than those using a placebo.

We have a line of candles containing essential oils.  Check them out:

Heavenly Hair:  Remember those hair ties from the 90's that featured a metal bind on them that was anything but gentle on your hair? Well, those seem to have (thankfully!) completely disappeared from shelves, and in their place a lot of fun and innovative hair bands have popped up. Now you can feel a little spoiled with products available now.  With many styles, you have to wrap around the hair so many times that the hair bands start to lose their shape. Our hair ties look like old-school telephone cords and might seem like they tangle the hair, but they do just the opposite. They also don’t leave a crease in the hair, so you can seamlessly move from an up do to wearing your hair down without the crease line you often see with traditional hair ties.  Those are shown here:

Sweet Satisfaction:  sometimes we don't need to get healthy.  Sometimes we need to indulge our senses in the sweet and savory.  If you're looking for a delicacy to sink that sweet tooth in to, look at these delightful candies!  I honestly haven't done any research on the health benefits of cocoa, but who cares?  IT'S CHOCOLATE.

So don't feel down this romantic season.  Stay engaged with the sentimental holiday and feel your higher self worth with these items, because remember, no one loves you like you!
